If you are buying a horse, we would highly recommend that you have a licensed veterinarian perform a pre-purchase exam no matter what the horse's value is. To purchase insurance for your horse, a Vet Exam would be required if:

• The value is over $25,000 (varies per company)
• The horse is less than 90 days old
• The horse is older than 15 years old
• If the horse has had previous health issues (discuss with agent)
• If it is a race horse

If a Vet Exam is not performed or required, you may use the Health Statement or Statement of Condition.

Please remember that sending an application to the Agency does not constitute binding coverage. Your coverage is only bound when the agent has confirmed receipt of your correctly completed paperwork and has advised you as such. If not paying in full, a payment program may be available.
